Overview
Smelting is the crafting discipline that transforms raw ore into usable metal bars. Every piece of forged equipment requires bars, not raw ore. Smelting is the essential bridge between mining and everything else.
How It Works
Set up a smelting work order at any furnace. Each bar requires a specific number of ore. Higher-tier bars require more ore per bar and higher Smelting levels. Work orders run in the background and can accumulate up to 12 hours of offline progress.
Bar Tiers
Ten bar tiers from Tin (T1) to Void (T10). Lower tiers are consumed by Forging for weapons and armor. Higher tiers (T9-T10) feed into advanced consumables, jewelry, and masterwork items rather than standard equipment.
Training
Smelting XP is awarded per bar produced. Higher-tier bars give more XP. The fastest way to train is to smelt the highest tier you have materials for. Keep your mining level ahead of your smelting level so you always have ore to work with.
