Getting Started

Your nomad, combat skills, and how to stay alive on Khael-Vorath.

Your Nomad

You are a survivor of the Exodus Meridian crash. There are no classes. Every nomad starts the same and grows through combat. Your power comes from seven combat skills that level up as you fight. Scrap is the universal currency. Scavenged ore and components that the settlement accepts as payment for goods and services.

Combat Skills

Attack. Melee accuracy. Train it to land hits more reliably with swords, axes, and other melee weapons.

Strength. Melee damage. The harder you hit, the faster things die.

Fortitude. Defense and armor effectiveness. Higher Fortitude means you take less punishment.

Vitality. Maximum HP. Every nomad starts with Vitality at level 10, and it trains passively every time you deal damage in combat.

Ranged. Ranged accuracy and damage. Governs bows, launchers, and repeaters.

Signal. Spell accuracy and damage. Governs staves and other channelling weapons.

Protocol. Governs protective buffs and restorative abilities activated during combat. Points drain each turn while active and restore at campfires.

What to Do First

Start here and work down:

1. Fight. Your combat skills only level through kills. Head to the wilderness and start grinding.

2. Start a Fishing work order. Fish become food, food keeps you alive. Start this immediately so it runs passively while you fight.

3. Start a BioHarvest work order. Biostock fuels Synthesis potions that buff your combat stats.

4. Once you have fish and biostock, start Cooking and Synthesis work orders to turn raw materials into food and potions.

5. Start Mining. Ore is the base material for all equipment. Smelt ore into bars via Smelting, then Forge bars into weapons and armor.

Everything else unlocks naturally as you level up.
