Combat Skills & Training

Train seven combat skills by fighting. Your weapon and attack style determine what levels up.

How Combat Skill XP Works

There are no stat points to allocate. Instead, your seven combat skills level up through use. Every time you deal damage in combat, XP is awarded to specific skills based on your weapon type and chosen attack style. The more you fight, the stronger you get, in exactly the areas your playstyle demands.

Attack Styles

Each weapon type offers multiple attack styles that route XP to different skills:

Melee weapons offer four styles: Accurate (trains Attack), Aggressive (trains Strength), Defensive (trains Fortitude), and Controlled (splits XP across Attack, Strength, and Fortitude evenly).

Ranged weapons offer three styles: Accurate (trains Ranged with an accuracy focus), Rapid (trains Ranged with a speed focus), and Longrange (trains Ranged and Fortitude).

Staves offer two styles: Standard (trains Signal) and Defensive (trains Signal and Fortitude).

Vitality

Vitality trains passively whenever you deal damage, regardless of weapon or style. Every nomad starts at Vitality level 10. You do not need to think about training it. Just keep fighting and your health pool grows naturally.

Combat Level

Your combat level is a summary of your overall combat power, calculated from your seven skill levels. It caps at 126 and is visible to other players on leaderboards and inspections. It is not a single skill. It is a composite that reflects your total training.

Skill Caps

All seven combat skills cap at level 99. The XP curve is steep. Early levels come quickly, but reaching the highest levels requires serious dedication. Focus on the skills that matter for your build rather than trying to max everything at once.
