How to Get Stronger
All the ways to power up your nomad — from gear to skills to consumables.
There is no single path to power on Khael-Vorath. The strongest nomads combine several strategies at once. This guide covers every way to make your character hit harder, survive longer, and push further into the wastes.
Level Up & Allocate Stats
The most straightforward way to grow. Killing monsters earns XP, and each level grants stat points you can spend on Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, or Speed. Think about your build — a Bulwark stacking Constitution plays very differently from one investing in Strength and Speed. Every point matters, so spend them with intention.
Upgrade Your Skills
Each class has a set of active and passive skills that unlock as you level up. Once unlocked, you can rank skills up by spending scrap — higher ranks cost more and eventually require Monster Essences. A fully ranked skill can completely change how a fight plays out. Check the Skills tab regularly — a new unlock might be the edge you need.
Find Better Equipment
Better gear is the fastest power spike you can get. Equipment drops from monsters, merchants, and crates. Pay attention to rarity — uncommon and rare items have higher base stats and often come with bonus modifiers. Compare new drops against what you have equipped. Even a small stat difference adds up over many fights.
Craft Your Own Gear
Four crafting lifeskills let you produce equipment, consumables, and specialty items from gathered materials. Alloycraft, Biosynth, Signal Etching, and Crystallography each produce different types of gear. Crafted equipment can rival or exceed what you find in the wild, especially at higher crafting levels. Gather resources from deposits in the wastes and visit Syl at The Wreck to start work orders.
Enhance Your Equipment
Found a piece of gear you love? Take it to Enhancement to push its stats higher. Each successful enhancement increases the item's level and boosts its stats. Be warned — enhancement can fail, and higher levels are riskier. But a +5 weapon hits noticeably harder than a +0. Enhancement compounds come from Conduit runs, Xenopedia milestones, and crafting.
Chase Boss Drops
Zone bosses have a chance to drop legendary equipment directly — the strongest items in the game. Collect summoning fragments from zone monsters, then visit the boss lair to fight. Legendaries come with unique passive effects you can't find anywhere else. Equip multiple pieces from the same boss to unlock set bonuses. If you're stuck on content, a legendary weapon or armor piece can be the breakthrough.
Open Scrap Crates
Monsters occasionally drop scrap crates. Opening one gives a random item — most are common, but every crate has a chance to contain something rare or better. Crates are a steady source of gear upgrades as you grind through zones.
Climb The Conduit
The Conduit (tower) offers escalating rewards the higher you climb. Each run grants scrap, XP, and items, with milestone floors awarding unique legendaries you can't get anywhere else. Even failed runs still reward you for the floors you cleared.
Use Consumables
Don't overlook your consumable inventory. Shards boost your farming yields — more XP, more scrap, better drop rates. Pheromone lures increase monster spawns for faster grinding. Predator wards suppress dangerous elite encounters. Healing tonics keep you alive between fights. Craft them from gathered materials and use them liberally.
Putting It All Together
The best approach is to work on multiple fronts. Level up and spend stat points. Keep your gear current — buy, craft, or loot upgrades whenever you can. Enhance the pieces you plan to keep. Farm bosses for legendaries. Pop consumables before hard fights. No single upgrade makes you unstoppable, but all of them together will.
